 Status Symbols

PMM uses the Access symbols to show the status of the current record:

A solid arrow head pointing right: indicates that this is the current record and that the record has been saved as it appears.

A pencil: This is the record you are editing. Changes are not yet saved. Click on the left Select Bar to save or press SHIFT + ENTER.

Æ A circle with a line through it: This is a locked record, so you can’t edit it.

* A counter field (the last line in a Datasheet view): You cannot edit this field. It is used by the database management system.

Note : When your pointer (cursor) looks like a white arrow, you are in Navigation Mode. This means you can zoom around with your mouse, but you will not change anything on your trip. To select the field for editing, press F2 or click once with the mouse in the field’s label. This will highlight the field. As soon as you begin to type, the pencil will appear in the column on the left (edit mode) and what you type will replace what was in the field.
